Andalusian Rental Services is most active in the South of Andalusia, in the province of Malaga, particularly in the area called The Axarquía which is east of the city of Malaga. This area is bordered by the province of Granada in the north and the east, the towns of Antequera and Malaga in the west and the Mediterranean in the south.
The Axarquía consists of 31 municipalities, with its capital and most important town being Velez-Malaga. Within the area is a large artificial lake called Lake Viñuela.

This area is less touristy than the area west of Malaga, but there has been a significant increase in development over the last few years. Seaside resorts such as Torre del Mar, Torrox and Nerja have a lot to offer seaside visitors.
The Axarquía is also a favourite spot for hikers and walkers of all abilities as there are many great walks through the magnificent Nature Reserves.

The white-washed villages are characteristic of the area and are found clinging to the mountain sides or nestling in the river valleys. They all have their own special traditions and fiestas.

One of the most well known is the village of Frigiliana, which has won several prizes for being the most beautiful village in the region. Also well known is Nerja which has become internationally famous because of the Nerja Caves.

It is worth seeing and visiting as well, the villages of Comares (the highest), El Borge (one of the oldest), Alfarnate, Salares, Riogordo, Canillas de Aceituno and Cómpeta (for its wine festival).
