Info Andalusia
Andalusia, in the southern part of Spain, is known for its flamenco, fiestas and bullfights. But it’s much more. It’s full of surprises and contradictions. You can travel from hot, arid deserts to snow capped mountains; from tranquil whitewashed villages to energetic, beach discos; from magnificent Moorish edifices to never ending/endless olive groves.
This is where Europe and Africa come together. Arabs, Berbers and Christians gave this area its unique character.
Andalusia consists of eight Provinces, each one with its own specific character.
The summers in Andalusia are hot and dry. Inland the temperature can rise up to 40°C. In the mountains and along the coast temperatures are more moderate. The best weather is in spring and autumn, but especially in spring when there is a profusion of wild flowers everywhere.
The average year temperature in the Axarquía is approximately 18°C!
The flora in Andalusia varies from subtropical to alpine and is matched by the richness of the animal life. There are more than eight Nature Reserves, covering about one fifth of the total area of Andalusia.
Andalusia: a region that is really worth visiting!!
